Finnish Society for Nutrition Research
The Finnish Society for Nutrition Research, founded in 1985, is a scientific society for supporting and promoting nutrition research in Finland. The main activity of the Society is to organize scientific symposia. In addition, the Society donates travel grants to its Ph.D. student members.
Most of the Society’s 500 members have an academic degree in nutrition. A number of members are expert researchers and practitioners in fields ranging from medicine and natural sciences to technology. Several food and pharmaceutical companies support the Finnish Society for Nutrition Research financially.
The Finnish Society for Nutrition Research is a member of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies and represents Finland in two international organisations, the Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS) and the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS).
